Chris's triathlon career began with his parents driving him to local sprint triathlons in the early 90's. He excelled as a collegiate swimmer and runner at Augustana College, Rock Island, IL. Following his collegiate career Chris began racing triathlons seriously. As an amateur he has raced the Ironman World Championships, 70.3 World Championships, ITU Off-Road Triathlon World Championship and USAT nationals. Chris also raced professionally from 2013-2016.

Chris has a background as a swim coach and has been a USAT certified triathlon coach since 2009. His greatest strength as a coach is his ability to leverage his educational background in Library and Information Science to manage training data and keep abreast of the most recent developments in exercise science. Over the years Chris has had the opportunity to be coached by and learn from some of the big names in the triathlon coaching world. Given his long background as a competitive swimmer and coach, he is particularly well-suited to providing technical swim stroke analysis.

My two favorite things in life are libraries and bicycles.
They both move people forward without wasting anything.
